6SA7 to 7B7 Adapter
This is an adapter to allow using a 7B7 in place of a 6SA7 tube.
During WWII tube production was diverted for military use.
Because of this, tubes for civilian radio repair became increasing difficult to find.
The result was that many radio repairmen created adapters to allow the use of other tubes that had the same or similar characteristics in place of the original tube.
Some even started a small business making the adapters for other repairmen.
Interestingly this adapter is mislabled. It shows the 7B7 can be used in place of the 12SA7.
This is incorrect since the 7B7 has a 6 Volt heater, but the 12SA7 has a 12 Volt heater.
The result is that if the 7B7 were used in a 12SA7 socket, the heater of the 7B7 would burn out.
The correct substitution is that a 7B7 can be used in a 6SA7 socket.
It can also allow a 14B7 to be used in a 12SA7 socket (both are 12 Volt tubes).
